Chemical/Mechanical Improvements in Belridge Condensate System
The following is quoted from CPI West Coast Region Newsletter, a Baker Petrolite / Aera Energy publication.
The Belridge facility has a separate water plant to handle the fluids from the Section 2 Condensate System. Recently, the water quality has not met the expectations of operations. Initially, adjustment in treatment rates were tried to resolve the problem. Local technical service was brought in to help review product selection. A polymer treatment in the Wemco was recommended but the treatment only slightly improved the water quality. Tests with a Wemco simulator indicated that the Wemco was not performing properly. Separation Specialists Company was brought onsite to repair the Wemco. After the repairs, the water quality improved dramatically.
