Induced Gas Flotation
Separation Specialists, Inc. manufacturers, sells and services the premier Mechanically Induced Gas Flotation units in the industry. Our units are self contained horizontal vessels built on a skid to simplify transportation and installation. The mechanical induction of gas in the Separation Specialists MIGF units have proven to be one of the most successful means of removing minute oil droplets, down to 8 microns. The Separation Specialists MIGF design has set the benchmark in flotation for more than thirty years.
THE PROCESS
Waste water flows horizontally through the unit which contains five chambers or cells. The first four cells are aerated while the fifth cell is non aerated or quiet. The gas bubbles carry oils and suspended solids to the water surface where they are removed by skimmers. The final quiet cell removes the last oil and gas from the water. Each cell removes 50% of the emulsified oil and suspended solids, resulting in recovery of valuable oil that would otherwise been discarded.
PERFORMANCE
The Separation Specialists MIGF can remove 95to 98% of the oil in the feed water. Chemicals may be added within the MIGF vessel to further improve the efficiencies. Our over thirty years of experience has allowed Separation Specialists to develop custom features that enhance the performance and operation of these units. Our units come in sizes capable of processing from 1500 to 170,000 barrels of produced water per day.
CONSTRUCTION
The Separation Specialists MIGF units are built of carbon steel with epoxy-phenolic coatings or to your specifications and can operate at temperatures up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The doors, skimmers and hardware are stainless steel for increased operating life. The MIGF has a high quality multiple spring mechanical seal on the agitators and the skimmers, unlike our competitors who use lip seals and rope packing.
MAINTENANCE
We offer experienced service technicians for all your MIGF service needs and offer custom maintenance plans to help keep repair costs down. Separation Specialists also offers mechanical part exchanges to reduce your equipment downtime.
